Eternal struggle 2007 July 30

While most of you are happily waving remotes around to simulate sports like tennis, I'm afraid I'm still doing it the old-fashioned way.
So yeah, yesterday night my brother suddenly felt like playing some of the Mario sports games. Fine. First I handed him a big can of ass-whoop in Super Mario Strikers (which I reccomend; I don't like soccer myself but this one's hella fun). Me and my trusty Koopas managed to score six goals while my onscreen avatar's skinny twin brother (I like Yoshi's Island and I say it's canon) left the match without knowing what scoring was like. So he had me pick Mario Tennis instead.
After an annoying match in some stupid Gimmick Court, which I lost, we set up a 5-set, 6-game match, with AI controlled sidekicks in each side. While I kept playing as Mario my brother decided to pick Yoshi, with Luigi as his companion. Princess Peach was fighting my side.
Now, I just got to the conclusion that Camelot believes "Intermediate" and "Blatantly Stupid" mean the same thing. Our buddies would screw up the game most of the times. They used Power Shots while we were about to hit the ball. And whenever my brother stood as the server and our Highness as the receiver, I'd pray to God for a miracle. 80% of the time, he managed to shove an Ace up our ass. We struggled between Break Point and Deuce quite often.
Of course, at some point our tennis buddies would do something right, such as using a power shot and saving our asses in the last minute... usually to have them handed to us few seconds later.
At one point, I mentioned the match was taking a good while, and the idea for this comic came. That's pretty much it. Notice how Mario is using his left hand to hold the racket there? Well, I usually set my character to Lefty in this game. I don't know if it changes the gameplay somehow, but I'm a lefty myself, so let's go with it.

And apparently, it is natural that when humans get old, they start calling everyone "whippersnappers". Even people that aren't much younger than them.
