Wolves are the new rage 2008 March 25 I've been drawing Sonic the Hedgehog quite a bunch recently... I dunno, it's fun. More fun than his games, I'll give you that. Speaking of his games, this comic here is about the announcement of a new game starring the blue marsupial, tentatively titled "Sonic Unleashed" (which is a strange name because Sonic never wore a leash in the first place). In this game, Sonic... turns into a wolf? Now where haven I seen that before? Oh, right! The "so-so" Zelda: Twilight Princess. While I agree it's a fun game (it's Zelda, how could it be otherwise), the Wolf Link sequences felt... silly. In the end you controlled him just like your human self, so it was kinda useless really. And all you did was dig holes and hunt bugs. I mean, ugh. Of course, judging by the screenshots and footage released for the new Sonic game (it indeed looks pretty), it looks like it's been under development for quite a while... perhaps while it was in pre-production, Capcom's Okami was being highly praised and Zelda was the most hyped game ever. Sega's "incredibly smart" developers figured out that wolves were the next coolest thing in gaming. Can someone say "You're doing it wrong"? At the very least, most of the footage seen for the game shows Sonic running through pretty much bidimensional stages. They're going back to their roots, I guess. I hope. In other related news, I liked Sonic Rush. And now I feel like playing it again. But not as Blaze. Fuck Blaze.
